High street picks.

This is my first try at using InDesign to create a magazine style trends page. It's really basic but these are the main pleather picks on the high street right now.

Are you loving the pleather trend?
Do you own any leather-look pieces?

*Although I created the page, I do not own any of the images and all credit must go to New Look, H&M, River Island and Topshop

Back to.. Bags

So it's that time of year again, when you go back to college/school/uni and you need to get the essentials. On the top of my list is always a good bag. If your bag isn't sturdy then there's no point in using it so you have to spend a little bit more on one - bags are around the only thing that I won't head straight to the sale for. Trying to find a bag big enough to fit all of your folders and coursework in is a challenge in itself.

I have compiled a collection of my favourite bags on the high street right now to make it a bit easier to choose from:

I bought a bag very similar to this one last year from H&M and I still use it most of the time and it has shown no sign of breaking. It's only £24.99 and comes in black or purple. I love bags that you can use either the carry handles or a shoulder strap.

This is another H&M bag - it's very similar to the first one but it has a much wider range of colours (five in total) and it's only 19.99 which to me is a must have. At that rate I could buy two different colours for only £40. Perfect bargain.

Urban Outfitters isn't usually my first choice of shop but I really do like this bag. It's tall enough to fit anything A4 in and I like the colour scheme. This bag can be used for either work or a job interview aswell.  It's £48 which isn't that cheap but if it lasts then it's worth it.

I love the colour of this bag - sage - it's not dull enough to be grey but not too bright for school or college. Again, I like the handle and shoulder strap idea and it looks like there could be some compartments for phones/keys etc. It's only £36 and it's from Topshop so it should be decent enough quality.

I think rucksacks are just really cute. They are great for days when you don't need to carry too much - this one kinda reminds me of the one Tilly had on TotsTv haha. It's only £30 from River Island and the colours are great for autumn coming in.

I hope this helps in the quest to find the perfect college/school bag and I would highly recommend River Island, H&M and New Look from personal experience.

Style Steal: Amy Macdonald

Okay so here's some things I love about Amy Macdonald:

1. She is called Amy
2. Her music is good
3. She is Scottish
4. Her style is pretty awesome

Amy Macdonald's style is kinda like 'Scottish rock chic'. She mixes Tartan dresses and skirts with leather and does it really well. So here is how to get one of her excellent styles for a very good price...

I think the jacket is probably my favourite out of this outfit. It's only £29.99 from H&M. The shoes are from New Look and are £24.99 - I also thinks shoe boots or heels with studs would spice the outfit up a little bit. The dress is an absolute bargain at only £10 from Desire Clothing. Which you can buy here.

I hope you enjoyed this style steal and I would love some suggestions for the next one.

Summer essentials: We love short shorts.

So we all love short shorts - who doesn't love short shorts?
What could be better than a gorgeous pair of short denim shorts for this summer?
Umm, short denim sale shorts for this summer.

I have searched the internet and found the perfect must-have shorts for this summer from the high street. Whether they be patterened, floral, dip-dyed, tie-dye or high waisted then I have the perfect ones for you.

For me, there isn't a better feeling than finding the perfect pair of shorts and not wanting to take them off all summer.

Short denim shorts are the most important item of clothing of your summer and here's how to get them without breaking the budget...

These shorts are lovely. A nice mixture between plain denim and a vintage floral pattern.
Miss Selfridge: was £35, now £15

Dip-dye style is very "in" right now. These shorts kind of remind me of a clear, sunny day and would be perfect for this summer.
Miss Selfridge: was £35, now £15

Every summer wardrobe has to have a nautical outfit. These red and white striped shorts would make a great edition.
Miss Selfridge: was £26, now £12

I'm not the world's hugest fan of plain denim when there is so many different choices out there. But if you are trying to tone it down these would be great - and you can still get a bit of colour and pattern in the the USA style pockets.
Miss Selfrdge: was £30, now £15

Gotta love high-waisted shorts. These super short shorts are fantastic and the bright purple is a good way to make yourself stand out this summer.
Topshop: was £32, now £15

These baby's remind me of a sweetie stick of rock or something. Great outfit for a day at the fun fair.
Topshop: was £32, now £15

These shorts have a lovely tropical feel to them. Would be great for going out dancing with...
Topshop: was £34, now £15

Oooh tie-dye. Definitely coming back in fashion. I love these colours too.
Topshop: was £32, now £15

Hope you love short shorts as much as I do.
All of these shorts are from either Miss Selfridge or Topshop and are only a small selection from each.
